We tend to use this time of year as an excuse to self deprecate, compile a list of things we fail to do or do badly, then resolve to change in the coming year. It’s a new decade and I’m breaking that tradition by henceforth counting all of the things that I’ve accomplished as the year comes to a close. In 2010 I moved into the only home that was ever really mine and made it beautiful and warm. With the ultimate support of a my friends and family, I took the necessary steps in order to graduate with my bachelors in May after 10 years as a student. And after spending most of my teenage and adult life wishing I could be a runner, I put on my shoes and now I average 20 miles per week along the oceans and waterways surrounding my house. On that note, my New Years resolution is to make 2011 a year just as full of joy, laughter, love, firsts and accomplishments. Happy New Year!
